My nutritional journey began when I presented with allergies, and conventional treatments provided only temporary relief through prescription medication for many years.
As my allergies intensified over time, I found myself searching for answers to uncover the root causes, source of my allergic reactions, and growing number of triggers. My allergies used to leave me feeling debilitated, restricting my food choices and limiting my lifestyle, such as enjoying a meal with friends and family.
Recognising that poor nutrition and lifestyle were at the core of my challenges, I decided to dive deeper into the world of Naturopathic Nutrition by pursuing studies at CNM, The College of Naturopathic Medicine. My motivation was not only to better understand my own health journey but also to assist others facing similar situations. Determined to regain control of my health and lifestyle, I embarked on a path to rediscover a happier and healthier version of myself.
Through my lifestyle adjustments and studies over the last 15 years, I gained a deep understanding of the significance of whole foods, fruits, and vegetables as part of a balanced diet, especially when I became a parent. I've successfully integrated a nutritious blend of foods and cooking techniques that contribute to a joyful and healthy lifestyle for my family and children, allowing them to flourish.
It's also crucial to recognise the importance of mental well-being, understanding that a rigid super-healthy diet may not always be mentally beneficial, especially in the busy modern world we live in today. So, go ahead and indulge in that slice of chocolate cake if it's what you desire, just ensure it's part of a balanced approach, embracing something as simple as the 80/20 rule — strive for 80% whole foods and relish the remaining 20% of what brings you joy!
